Stockpile Calm at Home : Grow your self practice
Saturday 25th April 1030am – 1230pm
By being a part of the Breathing Space community, you’re not just getting access to Yoga for an hour at a time, you’re gaining the opportunity and guidance to nurture a personal and rich self practice which will always be yours to keep.
Welcome to the new season of monthly(ish) workshops, aimed at empowering and nourishing you as a unique practitioner, on your own distinct journey.
In this series of workshops, we’ll explore how your sadhana might look for YOU: The time and timing, frequency, equipment and space, as well as considering which postures and practices you might incorporate. By the end of the session, you will feel ready to approach your Sadhana and take it all at your own pace. You’ll come away with some sequences to get you started, including asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork) and simple meditations.
The workshop includes ongoing guidance via a closed Facebook group for the attendees and the teachers. This support will include regular group contact; sharing of thoughts, ideas, resources, discussion of questions posed by individuals, weekly video tutorials posted by the teachers and and even a zoom mid-point meet up (to be scheduled).
Approach: Establishing the foundations and approach. Key practices and postures to get started with.
We recommend you also attend subsequent scheduled every 4 or 5 weeks, to provide you with ongoing support, encouragement and to further deepen your practice (these are to be booked separately) As we progress, you will be given opportunity to embed prior learning, develop your repertoire through further in-depth study of new postures, breathing practices and simple meditations. Any session can be a stand alone session. You can still attend the later ones, even if you don’t attend the first one.
Anxiety tool kit
May 3rd 15:00-17:00 (Sun)
YOUR’E JUST OVER THINKING IT, it’s all in your head, you’ll be fine….its likely people said these words to you, and despite being well intentioned, have ended up making you feel MORE isolated, MORE helpless and MORE anxious.
Anxiety is difficult to explain to someone who hasn’t experienced it first hand – it saps your sense of control, robs you of pleasure and leaves you physically and emotionally drained. So many of you work tirelessly on a daily basis to navigate your anxiety and believe yoga can give you a road map to do so.
Physical yoga poses, simple meditations and breathing practices are some the most effective self-care strategies to regulate the stress response and rebalance the nervous system.
Our Yoga for Anxiety Workshop, will take you on a journey to explore yoga as a powerful tool to find the breath, balance nervous system, soothe the mind and develop the self regulation response.
All levels and experience welcome.
Suitable for absolute beginners.

“Rest is a neglected super power!”
Rest is not idle, it’s not wasteful. Sometimes rest is the most productive thing you can do for body and soul.
Join Bel for a two hour workshop exploring the concept of conscious rest and how we can apply yoga principles to the art of resting the body, the mind and the spirit.
We will explore
- Different types of rest
- Relaxation Skills
- The effects of rest on the nervous system
- The practice of Restorative YogaRestorative yoga is the practice of relaxation for conscious deep rest. A practice with the use of props to support the physical body in position of ease and comfort, to facilitate a positive relaxation response, for energetic, emotional and mental equanimity. This workshop will be online via Zoom direct from Bel’s home to your home.
You will need a number of props, these can be ‘official’ yoga props or improvisations. We’ve become VERY good at improvising and creating DIY props.
Learning how to rest can become your greatest strength
