Chair Yoga

20 Hours

Introduction to teaching

Saturday 13th  – Sunday 14th April 2024

Become more than a teacher of postures; become a teacher of people.

Throughout a Yogi’s life, our physical practice will go through change – whether through injury, illness, age or environment, and sometimes it’s neither possible nor advisable to be down on the mat. But that’s not to say our physical practice need cease.

Chair Yoga is an increasingly popular approach to traditional Yoga which brings the practice to where individuals need to be met, so that Yoga can truly be inclusive and for Every Body.

This 20 hour CPD course will give you confidence, tools, techniques and practices to be able to offer well-thought out variations for practitioners in mixed classes, specific Chair Yoga sessions and Office Yoga, all whilst developing your awareness of a range of practitioners’ needs.

Yoga Alliance registered

In the course we will cover:

  • The principles of using the chair as an intrinsic yoga tool

  • Alignment principles of basic Chair Yoga practices

  • An exploration of conditions and contraindications which may bring people to practice with a chair

  • Office Yoga

  • The grades of differentiation you may offer (gentle to more demanding)

  • Sequencing of Chair practices

This course is accredited by Yoga Alliance International and counts at 20 hours CPD.
