Postnatal & Baby Yoga CPD

20 hours

Saturday 5th December – Sunday 6th December 2026

The postnatal period is a deeply transformative time—physically, emotionally, and energetically. As yoga teachers, having the knowledge and confidence to support new parents safely and compassionately is invaluable.

This two-day CPD gives you the tools to guide mothers through recovery, rebuild strength, and nurture connection with their baby. You’ll learn how to hold space for healing, while also creating engaging, supportive classes that meet the real needs of modern families.

What we will cover

Over the weekend, we’ll explore both postnatal recovery yoga and parent & baby yoga, blending evidence-based knowledge with practical teaching skills:

  • The postnatal timeline and safe return to movement
  • Physical and emotional recovery after birth
  • Anatomy of the postnatal body, including the first 6 weeks
  • Pelvic floor awareness and core rehabilitation
  • Sequencing for:
    • Mum-only postnatal classes
    • Parent & baby yoga classes
  • Baby engagement techniques and developmental awareness
  • Pranayama and meditation for nervous system regulation
  • Safety considerations, contraindications, and common conditions
  • Practice teaching to build confidence
  • Marketing and ethical considerations for working with postnatal clients

What you will learn

By the end of this CPD, you will:

  • Confidently design and deliver safe, effective postnatal yoga classes
  • Understand how to support recovery after different birth experiences
  • Integrate babies into classes in a way that feels natural and inclusive
  • Adapt practices for a wide range of postnatal needs
  • Use breathwork and mindfulness to support emotional wellbeing
  • Create a nurturing, community-focused class environment
  • Feel equipped to expand your offerings into a meaningful and in-demand area of teaching
